The lodge was built at the top of Hirafu Zaka in 1962, a minutes walk from the first lift that had just been erected in Niseko, and originally went by the name of Victoria Lodge. In the beginning it accommodated up to 55 people spread out through a maze of rooms on tatami mats. In 2004 the lodge was sold, renamed Blowhard Lodge, and renovated to be more spacious and accommodate only 16 people spread out over 8 rooms while maintaining the traditional ryokan style Japanese lodge atmosphere. Now in it's 61st year the lodge continues to go strong, preserving the original charm it had from the sixties while offering better and more modern services every year.
A warm breakfast is included in the lodging price. For an additional fee we also offer Japanese in-house course menu dinners and spirits/wine/beer delivery to lodge. Our goal is to make it so that you never have to leave the lodge unless you want to. See contact page for rates & availability.
